Politics, Pastors and Business as Usual Part 7

The Wake-up Herald

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Romans 13:11-14

Politics, Pastors and Business as Usual
Part 7

by Robert McCurry

Politicians and media have hijacked and brazenly touts the subjects of abortion, sodomy, marriage, family, economics and civil government as exclusively ‘political’ and ‘out-of-bounds’ for pastor/church involvement and influence; pastors and churches, with a few exceptions, give credence to the lie by their silence and passivity; they say in agreement, ‘I don’t believe in ‘mixing religion with politics.’ It’s business as usual. How tragic!

What kind of Bible do these pastors and churches read? No true God-called pastor or true Lord’s Church will deny that each of the above referenced subjects is a Bible subject. Why then the passivity and silence among so many pastors and churches on these subjects? Cowardice? Imposters?

cowardice n. = lack of courage in facing danger, pain, or difficulty; the state or quality of being without a backbone, hence, metaphorically, spinelessness; lack of strength of character; a feeling of fear or uncertainty; a loss of confidence or nerve; treason, or disloyalty.

impostor n. = a person who deceives others, esp by assuming a false identity; charlatan.

Satan is the master counterfeiter

counterfeit adj = 1. made in imitation of something genuine with the intent to deceive or defraud; forged; 2. simulated; sham.

With a few exceptions, contemporary ‘pastors’ are merely the CEO and Master of Ceremonies of a religious organization called a church; churches at large, with a few exceptions, are government licensed and controlled religious organizations that meet for ‘bless me meetings’, rehearse their particular beliefs and socialize.

But then, there are others. Read on.

There are still many God-called pastors who preach the whole counsel of the Gospel without compromise or apology; the Lord’s Church that Christ founded is still alive and ‘contends for’ and serves as guardian of the true Biblical Christian faith, the counterfeits notwithstanding. These pastors and churches may be insignificant and a nuisance by the world’s standard, but they serve as God’s bulwark of protection for America. Remember God’s promise to withhold His destructive judgment on the wicked cities of Sodom and Gomorra if Abraham could find only ten righteous people in the cities (Gen 18:32).

The Lord’s Church is to remain faithful to Jesus Christ. The Lord’s Church--not civil government, political parties, politicians, media, educators--is the custodian of the Gospel, the pillar and ground of the truth; Jesus Christ is the Foundation, Builder and sole Lord and Head of His Church; Jesus ordained His Church to be light and salt in a world engulfed in darkness and putrid sin; the Lord’s Church is to storm the strongholds of Satan and the gates of hell.

God’s Word and Christianity

The Bible proclaims that Christianity is the only true religion. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). “There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (I Tim 2:5); “The gospel of Christ: is the power of God unto salvation” (Romans 1:16). Jesus commands His Church, “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature” (Mark 16:15, 16).

The early Christians knew nothing about political boundaries, “They went forth, and preached everywhere” (Mark 16:20). They “filled Jerusalem with the Gospel” (Acts 5:28); “These all did contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus (Acts 17:7). In response to an officialdom command to cease preaching the Gospel they refused and replied, “We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:27-29).

Wake-up, Pastors! Wake-up, Christians!
