Welcome to Sodom USA Part 1

The Wake-Up Herald

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Romans 13:11-14

Welcome to Sodom U.S.A.

Part One

by Robert McCurry

The militant homosexual agenda is one of the sledgehammers used in America's cultural demolition. This agenda is not about rights. It is revolutionary, and it aims to recreate society in the image of perverse and decadent homosexual man. Nowhere is this truth more shockingly portrayed than in this essay on the homosexual agenda, written by "gay revolutionary" Mark Swift and printed in the February 15,1987 issue of Gay Community News. The following is reprinted from the Congressional Record:

"We shall sodomize your sons . . . .We shall seduce them in your schools, in your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in your locker rooms ... in your youth groups .... Your sons shall become our minions and do our bidding . . . . They will come to crave and adore us.

All laws banning homosexual activity will be revoked. Instead, legislation shall be passed which engenders love between men. Our writers and artists will make love between men fashionable We shall raise vast, private armies ... to defeat you. The family unit... will be abolished. Perfect boys will be conceived and grown in the genetic laboratory.... All churches who condemn us will be closed. Our only gods are handsome young men. All males who insist on remaining stupidly heterosexual will be tried in homosexual courts of justice and will become invisible men. Tremble, hetero swine, when we appear before you without our masks."

In her book The Hidden Homosexual Agenda Beverly LaHaye writes, "The homosexual ideology implies the intent to rearrange our perceptions, life-style, and legal system. In the strict sense of the term, this change is revolutionary. It requires, if it is to be effectively implemented, the careful and gradual application and transfer of power. The homosexual movement is thus not primarily a philanthropic or educational enterprise, but a hard-nosed political movement bent on changing our society."

June 26,2003, must surely be one of the darkest and most grievous days in American history. On that day the United States Supreme Court struck down age-old sodomy laws in Texas and thirteen other states. In an angry dissent delivered from the bench Justice Antonia Scalia asserted that the majority opinion (which overturned the Court's own 1986 ruling upholding a Georgia statue that banned sodomy) "effectively decrees the end of all morals legislation."

The decision threatenes a "massive disruption of the current social order,” Scalia wrote, arguing that the ruling could pave the way for same-sex marriages and undercut laws banning bigamy, adult incest, prostitution, and other unlawful sexual acts. "Today's opinion is the product of a Court that has largely signed on to the so-called Homosexual agenda," Scalia wrote.

The late Dr. D. James Kennedy, pastor of Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, released the following statement regarding the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in Lawrence v. Texas:

The Supreme Court today overruled not only itself, but a 3,000 year old legal and moral tradition, by striking down a Texas law banning samesex sodomy. It is a decision that the nation and this Court will come to regret most grievously, as the impli-cations unfold in coming years.

The Court's ruling is first and foremost a declaration of secular supremacy. Our nation, founded on the laws of nature and of nature's God, is now, it seems, officially off-limits to the moral framework that allowed us to enjoy freedom and prosperity that is unique in world history.

The moral-legal tradition that stretches back to the Code of Justinian, St. Patrick's Book of the Law of Moses, and the laws of England's King Alfred the Great - all of which contributed to English common law and served as the taproot of the American legal system - is here today disavowed by this Court.

This most unfortunate ruling will undoubtedly bring with it many deleterious will greatly undermine the primacy of marriage and place in the hands of homosexual activists a powerful tool to beat down resistance to their demands for the legalization of same-sex 'marriage.' It is clear that this Court will offer no assistance on that question.

This 6-3 ruling will also lead to other major shifts in American society. Enormous pressure will now be brought to bear against the Pentagon to lift existing restrictions on homosexuality in the military. Likewise, this opens the door to adoption by same-sex couples and will strengthen the hand of those who seek to restrict the free speech rights of individuals and groups who object to homosexual behavior.

Finally, this Court itself will be a victim of this ruling. Just 17 years ago in Bowers v. Hardwick, the Court ruled that 'The Constitution does not confer a fundamental right upon homosexuals to engage in sodomy.' Now, it has changed its mind.

In 1992 the Court in Casey v. Planned Parenthood had the opportunity to reverse itself on another searing moral issue: abortion. It did not. It said then that to overrule itself 'under fire in the absence of the most compelling reason to re-examine a watershed decision would subvert the Court's legitimacy beyond any serious question.' For this Court, a loss of legitimacy will be the most pronounced result of this ruling.

Once more, the Court is leading the nation down a path that will lead to enormous social conflict and moral decline. I hope that Christians will pray fervently for this nation and this Court that this appalling decision will be ameliorated in its effect and will itself, in due course, be overturned."

Gary Bauer, President of American Values, said:

"Today's 6 to 3 Supreme Court decision striking down the Texas law banning sodomy is a disaster for the pro-family side of America's culture war. The Texas legislature passed the law in order to promote the institution of marriage and the family and argued that communities have a right to choose their own standards. Six Supreme Court Justices said that a "right to privacy" in the Constitution is grounds to overrule Texas and 13 other states with similar laws.

"Ponder this: Of the six Justice majority, four of the Justices - O'Connor, Souter, Kennedy and Stevens were appointed by Republican Presidents! The White House did not even bother to file a brief in the case, even though it was the President's own home State of Texas that was under attack.

"So let's review the country that our federal courts have been constructing for us. It is a place where unborn children can be destroyed on a whim, a nation that requires parental permission for a tattoo, but not an abortion.

"It is a country where a copy of the Ten Commandments on the courthouse lawn is a threat to our liberty and the words "Under God" in our Pledge of Allegiance is a violation of the separation of Church and state. And soon it may be a place that allows men to marry men, effectively destroying 2000 years of Christian tradition on the meaning of marriage."

The root cause of this abysmal catastrophe? Silent, passive, inert pastors and churches!

Wake-up, Pastors! Wake-up, Christians!
